ABOUT

Figures should be editable, not disposable.

PaperPict was founded in 2025 in France by Michael Fritz to fix one recurring waste of research time: redrawing a figure because of a two-word comment.

Why PaperPict exists

Researchers spend days on figures that get read in seconds. Drawing them is rarely the hard part. Revising them is. A reviewer asks for a relabelled axis or a colour-blind-safe palette, and a flat image sends you back to the start.

PaperPict takes a different position: the model should do the first draft, and the result should be a proper drawing — objects, text, arrows, layers — that a person can keep editing. That is why every export is layered SVG, native PPTX, or a raster rendered from that same editable source.

Founder

Michael Fritz founded PaperPict in 2025 after years of watching collaborators rebuild figures by hand for each round of review. The company is based in France and works with researchers across the life sciences, engineering, and medicine.

Principles

  • Conventions first: correct arrowheads, panel lettering, and legends by default.
  • Editable forever: nothing you export is a dead end.
  • Your data is yours: manuscripts are processed to make your figure, not to train models.
