What is PaperPict?
PaperPict is an AI-powered figure generator built for researchers. It creates editable scientific figures from text, sketches, reference images, or the paper itself, and exports them as layered SVG, editable PPTX, or high-resolution PNG and JPG.
How long does generation take?
Typically about 30 seconds from prompt to a first editable draft. Posters and multi-panel explainers can take a little longer.
Is the output really editable?
Yes. Every element — text labels, arrows, colours, shapes, and panels — stays a live object. You can change one region or strip the background without regenerating the image.
Which inputs are supported?
Text prompts, hand sketches and photos (image-to-figure), and abstracts or full paper PDFs (reference-to-figure).
What formats can I export?
PNG (lossless), JPG, layered SVG with true vectors, and editable PPTX. Raster exports go up to 8K and 600+ DPI at single-column width.
Which journal palettes are included?
Nature, Science, NEJM, Lancet, JAMA, and the colour-blind-safe Okabe-Ito set. Lab plans can add custom palettes.
How is PaperPict different from BioRender?
BioRender is a library of icons you assemble by hand. PaperPict generates the figure from your description or paper, then lets you edit it. See the full comparison page.
Who owns the figures I make?
You do. You may use figures generated on your account in publications, posters, theses, and presentations. See the Terms of Use.
Is my manuscript used to train models?
No. Uploaded PDFs, sketches, and prompts are processed to generate your figure and are not used to train models. See the Privacy Policy.
Do you offer refunds?
Purchased credit packs are refundable within 14 days if unused. Subscription refunds are handled case by case; contact support.
