Terms of Use
The agreement between you and PaperPict when you use the website or the application.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using paperpict.com and the PaperPict application (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
2. The Service
PaperPict generates scientific figures from text, images, and documents you provide, and lets you edit and export them. Features, credit allowances, and limits depend on your plan as described on the pricing page.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for individuals; Lab plans allow the stated number of named seats.
4. Your content
You retain all rights in the prompts, sketches, documents, and other material you upload ("Input"). You grant us a licence to process Input solely to provide the Service. You confirm you have the rights needed to upload it and that it does not infringe third-party rights or contain unlawful material.
5. Generated figures
Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, you own the figures generated on your account ("Output") and may use them for any lawful purpose, including publication, presentation, and commercial use. Because generative systems may produce similar results for similar inputs, we cannot guarantee that Output is unique. You are responsible for verifying that Output is scientifically accurate and appropriate for its intended use.
6. Acceptable use
- No unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful content.
- No attempts to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent limits of the Service.
- No reselling of generation capacity without our written agreement.
- No use to fabricate or misrepresent research data.
7. Plans, credits, and payment
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Monthly credits reset each billing cycle; purchased credit packs do not expire. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT where applicable. Unused credit packs may be refunded within 14 days of purchase; consumer withdrawal rights under French law apply where relevant.
8. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice, and will not reduce paid allowances during a billing period you have already paid for.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, models, designs, and trademarks belong to PaperPict or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any rights in the Service to you other than the right to use it.
10. Disclaimer and liability
The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and limit our aggregate liability to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or where the law does not permit limitation.
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. On termination you may export your figures for 30 days.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law. Disputes are subject to the courts of France, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
